PROJECT PURPOSE

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections (ODOC) handheld radios and all repeaters have been at end of life for a number of years. ODOC has purchased 600 handheld radios last year to start the process of replacing all radios. To complete this project another 2,100 radios and 24 repeaters are still in need. (ODOC Tracking #202112-003 submitted by Justin Farris, Chief of Operations)

EVIDENCE

Inmate and Staff safety are directly impacted by having aged communication devices. In many cases, our radios are well past the service and support and could be a safety hazard in event of a disruption.
