PROJECT PURPOSE

In the first decade of its opening BOK Center and Cox Business Convention Center (CBCC) combined to contribute over $600 million in economic impact to the City of Tulsa. Capital projects to improve our facilities and help us continue to attract large scale events for Oklahoma have been put on hold due to extreme financial losses suffered from COVID. Our projects are centered on technological and operational aspects of both facilities that are past their shelf life, several of which are original to the building. The completion of these projects would help keep the facilities in the forefront as a top sports, entertainment and tourism destination. Technology: ? BOK Center: Replacing Center-Hung Scoreboard and arena bowl LED signage (both original to building). Parts are becoming obsolete and soon completely irreplaceable ? CBCC- Replacing exterior video boards. Currently non-functional due to end of life and having components that are no longer supported by manufacturer. ? BOK Center: Replacing Food/Beverage Point of Sales System. Current system has outdated technology that does not allow for cashless payments & mobile ordering Operational: ? CBCC: Replacing air walls for the Exhibit Halls & Conference Halls (currently beyond their life expectancy). Installation of a fire suppression system inside Conference Halls

POPULATION DESCRIPTION

Both the BOK Center and Cox Business Convention Center are continually referenced by media, business leaders and government officials as the catalyst in reviving downtown Tulsa, leading to over $1 billion in private development in downtown Tulsa. The rejuvenation has expanded beyond Tulsa and also greatly impacted the surrounding regional communities and the entire state due to the numerous large scale events that are hosted by each facility on an annual basis. Many of these events bring in visitors from across the United States. In order to continue to win the business of both large scale clients such as NCAA, Bassmaster, & USA Olympic Governing Bodies and continue to attract regional and national conferences such as Oklahoma FFA and Junior National Duels (Wrestling), it is imperative to have the means to fund necessary improvements. Bringing these events greatly impacts the quality of life for our surrounding communities, helps improve the local small business community and allows for great diversity in the type of events that are offered to our citizens.

PERFORMANCE MEASURING

We will work within all state and local parameters regarding the funds, both with the compliance and subsequent reporting after any amounts are awarded. We will work with the City of Tulsa and Tulsa Regional Tourism to establish Economic Impact Reports for events that specifically utilize the spaces within the facilities where the improvements are concentrated.
