PROJECT PURPOSE

The Groundwater Blending Project is a project plan and design is underway. The preliminary cost estimate for the project is $16,000,000. A preliminary study was performed by Alan Plummer and Associates which modeled the most efficient compilation of water lines to bring all water well lines to one centralized point. Once the water is brought to one common point, disinfection can be applied as well as allow for Norman to add additional treatment trains for future regulations on Arsenic, Chromium, and Selenium. Norman relies on the groundwater from the Central Oklahoma Aquifer for approximately 30% of their water supply. This project is regulatory driven and will bring our City into compliance with state regulations OAC 252:631-3-3 Disinfection Requirements
