PROJECT PURPOSE
The funds will be used to improve the old infrastructure that has needed replaced for many years. Most municipalities have to spend most of their money to keep other departments running which allows the infrastructure left to last priority repair. these projects will improve the water treatment plant o insure capacity for many years to come as well as replace thousands of feet of water and sewer mains that the city of skiatook depends on daily.
EVIDENCE
The city has the full time staff on both the water and sewer projects to allow the projects to run well. We have many contractors to validate this expectation. We also have 2 major engineering firms we use on a weekly basis and have many years of relationships with them. We have had the system evaluated by engineering to confirm the need for these projects as well of detailed information of age and condition of infrastructure.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
The city has several areas that we have noticed our system getting more frequent calls from. With more people staying home these days we see an increased call volume with request for water leaks and sewer backups. This is due to the increase of daily use of an already in need of repair infrastructure. Also to add with our water treatment facility we sale 42% of our water to district 15 rural water district which touches an additional communities other than the one we are responsible for.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
The city will have a full time employee that will over see each project as well as the site visits and weekly meeting with staff and engineering. We have done many projects throughout the city and have staff with many years of experience to assist the engineering group with these efforts.
