OKLAHOMANS PROJECTED TO BENEFIT
ESTIMATED PROJECT DURATION
Carter; Garvin; Grady; Jefferson; McClain; Okfuskee; Stephens
Hilliary Communications is requesting $19,848,250 to complete our South Central Oklahoma project and provide reliable, high-speed internet to thousands of homes with no recurring cost to the State. Hilliary Communications will be able to quickly improve the quality of life and expand opportunities for approximately 11,000 Oklahoman residences in Lindsay, Okemah, and the surrounding areas in Okfuskee, Stephens, Garvin, Carter, McClain, Grady and Jefferson counties, effectively future-proofing their internet and securing affordable and high-speed access for the foreseeable future. By connecting new service areas into our established network, valued at more than $100 million, we can effect change for these communities quickly and efficiently. We appreciate the State?s consideration on this project and plan to provide provide free internet to state and municipal government entities as well as several nonprofits within reach of this project such as Lindsay City Hall, Ringling Police and Fire Departments, Okemah Tag Agency, the Tommy Franks Museum.
The internet has become important not only in farming but medicine, education and many other ways. If you live in Okemah, where the nearest OB/GYN is at least 60 miles away, tele-medicine is not a lofty dream but a true need.
We will prepare a report to highlight the number of homes passed, the number of homes served, and the most common speed selected by the customer.
