PROJECT PURPOSE
This is a waterline infrastructure project to connect our Ames/Drummond wellfield to our new water treatment plant that processes surface water from Kaw lake and well water from the wellfields to distribute to the 75,000 people who live in or near Enid to provide good quality drinking water for the next 75-100 years. The anticipated completion date and commencement of operations is scheduled for December of 2023 currently.
EVIDENCE
This wellfield transmission and connection waterline is necessary to connect our best producing wellfield with the 42 inch existing waterline on Highway 412 that terminates at our new water treatment plant in Enid. The cost of this project has ballooned due to inflation and supply shortage issues and State assistance is needed. The assistance will allow us to complete the waterline connection necessary to bring up to 10 million gallons a day of well water to the new water treatment plant to process to serve 75,000 people in and around Enid.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
All residents of the City of Enid and surrounding communities who receive drinking water from the City of Enid, will benefit from the replacement of the existing water line, including vulnerable populations. The replacement of the aging line will provide reliable transit of drinking water.
