The goal of the College and Career project is a partnership between Yukon PS and SWOSU. This healthcare post secondary pathway initiative will be available to all students but will also have a specific interest in developing an early college pathway program for under-resourced, first general college students. These funds will be used to fully develop a dedicated space of 20,000 square feet with the latest health care equipment, simulation labs, technology and start up personnel to ensure successful implementation of this program in Canadian County.

POPULATION DESCRIPTION
Yukon Public Schools sits in the eastern part of Canadian County and is a part of the county that is experiencing rapid population growth. This area of the county and metro area have also seen an increase in families who qualify for low income services in addition to an increase in our Spanish speaking families. Providing educational opportunities in this part of the county/metro area will increase the number of students entering the Health Care Ecosystem Career Ladder with an emphasis in Yukon for the field of nursing. In addition, the program will target students who are bilingual therefore meeting another critical need in the health care fields.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
The project will be measured based on the number of students enrolled in the healthcare/nursing field and who complete not only an associates degree but also go on to complete the requirements for LPN/RN. These requirements do require a bachelors degree that can obtained at the new Yukon/SWOSU Campus. Additional data will include tracking the number of registered nurses as well as the number of nurses that stay in Oklahoma.
