PROJECT PURPOSE
Development and execution of a forest management plan for the state park system. Plan implementation will reduce fire risks for parks and surrounding private investment.
EVIDENCE
OTRD currently lacks a statewide plan for forest management within park system lands. The plan and execution of its recommendations will ensure protection of park lands and the private investments that surrounds Oklahoma's parks.
POPULATION DESCRIPTION
Other than the parks themselves, private investment in homes and businesses surrounding the state parks is threatened by potential forest fires. This project would manage and eliminate those risks.
PERFORMANCE MEASURING
OTRD would work closely with ODAFF, DEQ and federal agencies to develop and execute the project.
