PROJECT PURPOSE

Centranet LLC in partnership with Stillwater is proposing to make high speed gigabit internet available to their population by building fiber to the home (FTTH) broadband infrastructure. Broadband Deployment with FTTH is an eligible and recommended project under the final rules of the Treasury for the Covid Fiscal Recovery Funds. The final rules released January 2022 expand the area of investment for broadband with an identified need including lack of reliable and affordable service. Most of the population of Stillwater does not have access to reliable and affordable internet. The city sees the availability of reliable and affordable broadband as a critical need to provide the residents with the resources for remote work, distance learning and participation in the digital economy.
