Data collected by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services show that Oklahoma ranks among the top 10 in the number of deficiencies and fines incurred by nursing homes, as well as the number of times the federal government has suspended payments to nursing homes because of serious deficiencies. The Centers now issues a five-star rating of nursing homes across the country that was updated in April 2019.
